Dar Djerba sought after by Lancaster World

The Dar Djerba hotel complex, which comprises 5 properties and 1,600 rooms, could soon join forces with Lancaster World through a 30-million-dinar investment.

Currently operating under the Monarque Hotels brand, managed in Tunisia by Walid Tritar (who also heads Blue Style and Monarque Travel), the resort was in need of renovation to revitalize its operations. To achieve this, the Libyan owner is reportedly opting for a partnership with the Lancaster chain (7 hotels in Lebanon and sub-Saharan Africa) and the Turkish group Aslan.

This deal involves a long-term lease (reportedly for 15 years) and an investment of 30 million dinars. For the stakeholders, this represents a genuine strategic commitment, and for the destination, a substantial investment—a far cry from the sometimes short-lived simple franchise agreements.

This is good news for this flagship property on the island of Djerba, which would thus be given a new lease on life.
