Article taken from “L’Année Tourisme 2025”, one year of news from the tourism sector in Tunisia, Touriscope’s annual supplement.
There are many hotels with a rating of around 9/10 on booking.com. Based on the principle that quality as perceived by the customer is the most important factor in judging a hotel, Touriscope has carried out a monthly “customer satisfaction” ranking for seven months (December 2024 to June 2025), based on the scores given on this platform for the hotel category.
Based on this monthly ranking, we present a selection of the 20 most deserving Tunisian hotels in different categories.
- See below the table: Top 20 hotels by region.
Note: many of these hotels were already included in the 2019 ranking drawn up by the tunisiatourism.info website on the basis of Review Pro’s GRI (Global Rating Index). These include The Residence Tunis, Ibis Sfax and La Badira Hammamet. Proof, if proof were needed, of the consistency of the best Tunisian hotels in satisfying their customers, and maintaining their “excellent” or “fabulous” services, to use the terms used on booking.com.
- First Resort: The Residence Douz (average rating 9.35)
- First City hotel: Adam Hotel Suites (9.5)
- First Charming hotel: Dar El Jeld (9.5)
Touriscope ranking based on Booking.com ratings for the hotel category between December 2024 and June 2025.
At the top: The Residence Douz

The Residence Douz has climbed to the top of the country’s resorts, all regions included. This is a gratifying result for southern Tunisia. Firstly, because Saharan tourism needs good news for its revival, and secondly, because this hotel proves once again, after the Anantara Tozeur, that the South is made for inventive, luxury tourism: The Residence Douz is built around 50 villas.
Iberostar chain and local brands

Another result observed in our ranking is the strong presence of resorts belonging to the Iberostar chain. Six of its seven hotels in Tunisia feature in our top 20. Iberostar will be opening a new Iberostar Selection in Hammamet in the coming months, The Mirage, which already enjoyed an excellent reputation before its current renovation.
Local brands are not absent from this ranking, as they are represented by 6 hotels, including the recently renovated Royal Azur in Hammamet (Azur Hotels).
Last but not least, the charming Dar El Jeld hotel (9.5) in the heart of the Tunis medina, with some 15 rooms, received an excellent score.
