Customer satisfaction: hotel chains challenged by independents

The new Touriscope ranking as at January 10, 2025 features a number of independent establishments such as Dar El Jeld, Adam Hotel Suites and Dar Al Madina.

A boutique hotel in Tunis, Dar El Jeld, has the highest satisfaction rating in the country as of January 10, 2025: 9.5 out of 994 reviews. It is followed by Adam Hotel Suites (ex Avani, Berges du Lac) at 9.4 (for 661 reviews).
In Tunis, independent hotels have dethroned those run by hotel chains: Only the Radisson City Center confirmed its good start, entering the capital’s top 5 in 4th position (8.9 for 118 reviews). The Radisson Blu Hotel & Convention Center (ex Laico) is still struggling to establish itself, with a score of 7.6 (for just 11 reviews, putting it outside our ranking starting at 100 reviews).

    Established names and newcomers

In Gammarth, The Residence remains unchallenged (9 for 1033 reviews), immediately followed by Dar Saïd with the same score of 9 for 446 reviews. The Seabel Group’s latest addition, The Nine, is off to a strong start with a top score (9.8 for its first 11 reviews), promising to play in the region’s big league.
In the Sahel, hotels from the Iberostar chain confirmed their position at the top of the rankings in Sousse, Port El Kantaoui and Monastir, although they were dethroned in Mahdia by a newcomer, the 2-star Dar Al Madina hotel (9.1 out of 207 reviews).
Another mid-range hotel also stood out, maintaining its position as No. 1 among Hammamet hotels: Hotel Khella.
This underlines the fact that customer satisfaction is not so much linked to the category as to the customer’s expectations, given the hotel’s promise and its price.
